Franklin & Jan Smith
Katy Texas is fortunate to have Franklin and Jan. They have given baseball players the opportunity to develop and move to the next level.  They are  dedicated to the development of young players.  Their true love of the game and support of the community is revealed by their obvious commitment to providing a facility that encourages HARD WORK.
Meet the Staff

Dan DeYoung - Dan played college ball at Ole Miss from 1995-1997. He was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 6th round of the 1997 draft and traded to the Marlins in 1998.  Dan is seasoned at coaching at the High School level and is in high demand at working with High School pitchers in the Katy/Cy Fair area. 

Shannon Rucker - After finishing at Bellaire HS in 1990, Shannon played ball at Southwest Texas State University before being drafted and playing Class A ball in Indiana. 

David Brooks -  After graduating from Klein High School, David signed with Blinn JC where he was selected to the NJCWS All Tournament team in 1992 before transferring to Rice where he was an All-Conference Shortstop for Wayne Graham. David comes to Katy Sting Baseball with experience both as a player and coach.

Cory Smith - A Katy Tiger product, he is assisting both Dan and Dave on the field.

The Katy Sting Sports Academy: Since 2001, we have been home to competitive travel baseball for boys ages 11 to 17.
